STRATEGI PENINGKATKAN KESEJAHTERAAN EKONOMI PETANI SAYUR SELADA AIR DESA POPNAM KECAMATAN NOEMUTI KABUPATEN TIMOR TENGAH UTARA

Abstract

Popnam Village has potential in the agricultural sector, especially green vegetable farming such as watercress, kale, mustard greens. The objective to be achieved in this study is to determine the village government's strategy in improving the economic welfare of watercress farmers. The data used are primary data and the method used in this study is a SWOT analysis to determine the Village Government's Strategy in improving the welfare of watercress farmers in Popnam Village. The results of the analysis can be identified through the Strength factor (Strength) having a clean water source and having fertile soil quality, Weaknesses (Weaknesses) technological tools still using traditional tools, lack of market access and lack of networks/subscriptions and limited capital, Opportunities (Treaths) such as increasing market demand and online markets, Threats (Opportunities) such as the emergence of competition from watercress sellers from other areas and selling price competition. The right government strategy to improve the economic welfare of watercress farmers in Popnam Village is the SO (Strength and Opportunities) strategy, namely the need for abundant water, and also the need to overcome threats by providing business premises for watercress sellers and providing capital in the form of modern agricultural machinery in cultivating vegetable fields.
