Abstract

PT. Eka Satya Puspita (ESP) is a logistics company founded in 2016 by experienced professionals in supply chain management, cargo management, and human resources for the aviation industry. Based on distribution data from August 2024, an increase in distribution costs, including intercity transportation costs, demand volume per city, and vehicle capacity, was found, indicating that distribution channel management needed to be evaluated and optimized. This study used the Saving Matrix method, which aims to determine delivery route combinations by combining delivery points that yield the highest distance and cost savings. The results of this study showed that by combining adjacent delivery points into one route and considering vehicle capacity, the company can reduce the total distance traveled and travel time. This has a direct impact on reducing fuel costs, driver salaries, and overall distribution operations. Routes such as Yogyakarta and Surabaya or Semarang and Bandung can be combined because they have the same route and demand that is still within truck capacity. This combination allows for one-way round-trip deliveries, without compromising on timeliness or delivery effectiveness, resulting in significant cost efficiencies.
